Hello. I'm Maru's husband.
The lockdown in Bangalore was scheduled to be lifted on 6/7, but yesterday it was decided that the lockdown would be extended until 6/14.
Since this is the third extension declaration, I hope that the lockdown will really be lifted next time、、、 although the number of corona infections is steadily decreasing, there are still many infected people in India,
but the other day I gave a corona vaccine.
This time, I would like to write about my experience of getting vaccinated in India.
Vaccine situation in India
There are two types of vaccines distributed in India.
The contents of "Covishield" are the same as AstraZeneca in the UK, and the vaccine "Kovacsin"
produced in India is a purely domestic vaccine
in India
This time, I took a vaccine called "Covishield".
I felt a little scared to get vaccinated in India, but I decided to vaccinate this time because the corona is still not likely to settle down and it is safer to vaccinate when the lockdown is lifted and I go out.
By the way, Tsumiko was not very well, so I decided to postpone this vaccination.
So I've been vaccinating myself.
Vaccination flow
Vaccination was carried out in the following flow.
- Body temperature measurement
- Measuring oxygen levels in the blood with a pulse oximeter
- Blood pressure measurement
- vaccination
- 15 minute break
In my case, I was able to hit it relatively smoothly.
It was a little scary because it was my first experience with injections abroad, but the pain of the injections was the same as when I got the flu shot.
Of course, it hurt, but it wasn't so painful.
The place where the vaccine was administered was not clean, but the nurses took proper measures against infection, such as protective clothing and face shields.
Changes in physical condition
I got vaccinated at 9:50, so I made a note of my temperature to see how it changed.
9:40 | 36.7deg. |
11:30 | 36.9deg. |
12:50 | 36.6deg. |
13:50 | 36.8deg. |
15:50 | 36.7deg. |
18:50 | 37.0deg. |
21:30 | 37.1deg. |
6:50 the next day | 38.4deg. |
On the day of the vaccination, there was not much change in body temperature, but the next morning the fever exceeded 38 degrees.
I had relatively good side reactions、、、 and for the first time since I became a member of society, I had a high fever、、、 lol
The symptoms were similar to the flu, with headaches
and sluggishness in the body and knee joints.
I also had a symptom that made it a little difficult to get strength into my hands.
I'm sure my body was working hard to get antibodies.
Tsumiko put cold pita on me, and applied plastic bottled water to both sides, inseams, and neck to cool it quickly.
It is very helpful to have someone to take care of you when you are in a difficult time.
Is it okay for people who come to India alone to have a high fever?
I don't feel like I can make it by myself in India 、、、lol, I didn't feel well very well, so I
took Indian antipyretic drugs in the final mystery.
Then, by evening, the fever had dropped to the 36 degree range, and I was able to recover from my sluggishness.
As expected, Indian medicine should be feared.
However, Indian medicines seem to be too effective for Japan people, so you have to be careful not to take too much.
This was my first experience of getting vaccinated in India.
I'm worried about what will happen if there are so many side reactions from the first injection, 、、、
it seems that it will be a long time before the general public can be vaccinated in Japan, so it seems that corona infection will continue for a while.
I can only hope that the corona will end soon and we will be able to live as we used to be.
